VTTA
Expo
Plans are now being made for the first annual VTTA Toy Truck
and Construction Toy Expo. This is an event that requires a great deal of planning.
Our hope is that in the near future, a VTTA Expo will be something that exhibitors
can plan a weekend trip around.
The location has been chosen. Our Expo will be held in Cumberland,
Maryland. Cumberland is in the Western part of Maryland. It is located approximately
2 hours SE of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 2 1/2 hours W of Baltimore, Washington
D.C. and Northern Virginia, and is really easily accessed by Interstate 68.
Cumberland is a small town (approx. 21,000) that is rich in the history of the
Civil War, the Revolutionary War, and the Chesapeake and Ohio (C&O) Canal
which runs from Cumberland to Washington D.C. There are numerous historic houses,
antique and gift shops, hotels and motels, many fine restaurants and a scenic
steam locomotive train. The Western Maryland Scenic Railroad offers excursions
through the gorgeous mountains of Western Maryland.
VTTA is currently working with the local Chamber of Commerce
and the Canal Place Authority. Both of these organizations are very receptive
to the plans, and are willing to promote our Expo through print media and their
websites to ensure a large turnout. We are looking at the summer or fall of
2005 for our first show.
Contact us now! We want diecast truck and construction toy vendors,
toy trucks and construction vehicles pre - 1965, toy train vendors, NASCAR vendors,
and those of you who would like to exhibit a "real" truck that you
have restored.
VTTA members receive special rates and consideration when selling
or exhibiting at our show.
Make a weekend of it! Come and be part of a successful Expo,
take a ride on a steam locomotive, spend the night and experience the beauty
of Western Maryland and the hospitality that keeps visitors coming back again
and again.
